ALL IN ALL A VERY GOOD PRODUCT, AND WELL WORTH THE MONEY. HAD NO PROBLEMS SETTING THIS UNIT UP. AFTER OPENING I SOON READ THE INSTRUCTIONS, AND HURRIED TO GET THIS INTO OPERATION. I WOULD SUGGEST TO ANYONE THAT THIS IS A GREAT PRODUCT, AND FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY, WE TAKE A LOOK AT IT EVERY DAY. I READ REVIEW AFTER REVIEW, AND JUST COULD NOT MAKE UP MY MIND.
THE LITTLE GUY DRESSES FOR THE WEATHER,AND GIVE A PRETTY GOOD IDEA OF WHAT YOU SHOULD DO FOR YOURSELF. I LISTEN TO ONE OF THE REVIEWS THAT I HAD READ AND BOUGHT THE REALLY GOOD LITHEUM BATTERIES FOR THIS UNIT, YOU SHOULD TOO. I FINNALLY SETTLED FOR THIS UNIT FOR THE PRICE, AND ARRAY OF INFO IT WOULD DISPLAY. I WAS REALLY NOT SURE WHICH ONE OF THESE UNITS I WANTED TO GET. I GOT THIS UNIT RIGHT ON TIME, (FOR CHRISTMAS 2009).
I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THIS UNIT, IT HAS WORKED FLAWLESSLY SINCE I SET IT UP AT CHRISTMAS.
As others have commented, La Crosse service is TERRIBLE. Got another one on January 18th, and the LCD is only visible if you look at it from an extreme angle, and even then it barely works. It's a good thing I'm still within Amazon's generous return period. We have a ~1 year old one, and the left side of the screen started to die. Not a big deal I thought.stuff happens (even though we have old alarm clocks that have lasted 10+ years). It took forever to get ahold of them, and when I did, I was told I would need to not only pay to ship it to them, but that I would have to include a $10 check for "handling" and return postage.
Save yourself the aggrivation. Stupid me. Waste of $$. Customer Service said I would probably need an additional sensor. They keep telling you to take the batteries out and go through this elaborate process to install it. TOTAL waste of time. Company not helpful in working with U to get it working. I bought the second sensor because I couldn't get the one that came with it to work.
I fell for it. Don't buy it or any other product from this company. Bad Bad product. Major run around from Customer Service who don't know their product. Still can't get any of the units to work.
It contains the date, time,an alarm clock, and has icons in the center that let you know if it is raining outside, sunny, etc. The weather station from La Crosse is very accurate and easy to read. Settings are easy to use.
The transmitter/receiver combination works well and the temperature is extremely accurate. This is the best little outdoor thermometer I have ever had. The little guy in the middle is corny but cute.
